St Francis Bay, the delightful and sought after East Cape coastal town.
Dubbed the Chokka Fishing Capital, the town's residential homes are mostly holiday homes, with only a small percentage being permanently occupied. In peak holiday seasons the town's population soars and the village takes on a whole new vibe. With top-end golf courses, a fantastic port, numerous restaurants and quintessential marina living, St Francis is a highly sought after holiday or retirement location.

Something I never knew about Cape St Francis was that it was a great surfing destination. Apparently when the conditions are just right the waves are spectacular for surfing. I also found it very interesting that the "Cape" of Cape St Francis indicates that the town is situated on a headland, a piece of land which protrudes into the ocean, also known as a cape. The natural beauty in this area was amazing and the atmosphere is so laid back, it definitely rubbed off.
